When designing a conference room that is more than just a functional space, a key challenge arises: How can technical excellence, modern aesthetics, and user-friendliness be seamlessly integrated into a single, harmonious environment? German integrator PIK AG found the answer!
The modernization of the meeting room at Sparkasse Gotha was driven by the goal of creating a technologically advanced space that aligned with contemporary standards while catering to the specific functional and aesthetic needs of the client. At the core of this transformation was the integration of cutting-edge media technology, with Arthur Holm monitors playing a pivotal role in enhancing user experience and efficiency.
A key highlight of the project was the complete overhaul of the existing media infrastructure. Central to the upgrade is a state-of-the-art 135-inch LED wall from Sharp/NEC with a pixel pitch of 1.5 mm, seamlessly embedded within custom-built media furniture. The true centerpiece of the conference room is the integration of 20 Arthur Holm DynamicX2 retractable monitors into a bespoke conference table. These high-end monitors offer an intuitive and user-friendly solution for dynamic presentations, ensuring seamless communication and interaction during meetings and being retacted inside the table when not needed.
Beyond visual display enhancements, the project focused on optimizing both the acoustic and visual conditions of the space. Meyer Sound ULTRA-X20 loudspeakers provide uniform and immersive sound reinforcement, while Sennheiser beamforming ceiling microphones ensure crystal-clear audio transmission for video conferences. Complementing this setup, Q-SYS PTZ cameras deliver 4K 30fps video reproduction, further enhancing the room’s capabilities for modern conferencing.
An essential part of the project was the development of a tailor-made ceiling light that complements the sophisticated integration of media technology. Sigurd Hösl-Taube (Lighting Design, PIK AG) remarks: “A standard lighting solution was never an option. The architectural character had to be reflected in the lighting concept, making it clear that a custom solution was needed to meet both spatial and design demands. Collaborating with Jahn Möbelmanufaktur, we developed a lighting fixture that seamlessly integrates into the room’s design. High-quality LED strips with a CRI > 98 were implemented for direct and indirect lighting, ensuring optimal brightness and color accuracy. Additionally, the newly introduced F-Drive Irideon from ETC was chosen for its reliable performance and elegant design, allowing discreet integration within the luminaire structure.”
The success of the project was largely attributed to the meticulous coordination between all involved trades and the adaptation of technology to the architectural setting. The partnership with Jahn Möbelmanufaktur resulted in a cohesive design concept that merges technology, aesthetics, and functionality into a unified whole.
The outcome is a meeting space that sets a new benchmark for modern conference rooms. And Arthur Holm monitors, seamlessly embedded into the conference table, play a crucial role in delivering a high-tech, yet elegant, user experience.
